PPM001 Agar Media for Salmonella detection

Citrobacter freundii produces hydrogen sulfide like Salmonella does. Therefore, it becomes hard to distinguish C. freundii colonies from Salmonella colonies since Salmonella agar media detects hydrogen sulfide production making formed colonies black even though the growth of C. freundii is suppressed well. In our media, L-lysine and pH indicator are formulated to make agar substrate reddish purple for colony surroundings of Salmonella and green for colony surroundings of others, for easier judgement.

 

Using MicroBio Salmonella agar media, PPM001, Salmonella is detected easily. If this media is used by MicroBio µ3D, detection becomes even more easier and faster.
